Mortillery is a Canadian thrash metal band from Edmonton, Alberta. The band, currently signed at Napalm Records, has a total of three studio albums, as well as an EP.


Biography

Mortillery was formed in October 2008 in Edmonton, Alberta1. It initially includes singer Emily Smits, guitarist Alex Gutierrez and bassist Miranda Gladeau. They are joined by Cara McCutchen (vocals), and James Guiltner (guitar). In 2010, the group publishes its first EP, namesake.

In February 2011, they released their first album, Murder Death Kill, to the Horror Pain Gore Death Productions label. Possessing an artistic leg and a very old-school sound, going against the thrash revival wave, the group is quickly noticed by the label Napalm Records which he signed in March 2012. In 2013, they publish their second studio album, Origin of Extinction2,3. In 2014, Mortillery made his first European tour with Sepultura, Legion of the Damned and Flotsam and Jetsam4.

They announce, in March 2016, a sequel to Origin of Extinction, entitled Shapeshifter, May 27 via Napalm Records5. The cover of the album, which includes twelve songs6, is produced by Todd Knutson5.
Musical style

The band plays a classic thrash metal, oriented towards the 1980s. Their musical style is comparable to that of the Nuclear Assault group7.
